:NOTE:
Notice the text differences on the third stereo label. It no longer has the wording:
"SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS".
This leads me to believe it was a later pressing.
Note also the fourth stereo label. This has the text: "A "NEW BREED"
PRODUCTION
" moved up to just underneath the (YCARX.47) 33 1/3
on the right hand side.
This tells me this was an even later pressing.

Regal Zonophone/EMI removed the erroneous extra e from Steve Took's
middle name

:NOTE:
Originally slated for an 18th October release, the album was pushed back to November.

Mainly red centre labels but a few blue labels escaped into the wild. One can
only assume a box/pallet of blue labels were found in the printing plant's
warehouse and used, to save some money.

There seems to be at least two different versions of the red mono labels.
There seems to be at least three different versions of the red stereo labels.

A one-sided acetate of the album 'A Beard Of Stars' from Trident Studios.
Recorded towards the end of 1969 and beginning of 1970

On the Trident Studios label with handwritten recording details, in original
paper sleeve annotated by Marc Bolan in blue ballpoint. Described thus:-

4th Tyrannosaurus Rex Album
Stereo 33 1/3
*1 Great horse = learn harmony & bass
  2 blessed wild apple girl
*3 demon Queen = chorus & bass
*4 once upon the seas of abacinya, learn tabla to it instead of bass
*5 wind-cheater, learn harmony

:Note:
Unsure if any other tracks are on this acetate but the above 5 tracks are
definitely on it. Some (if not all) of them included work by Steve Took.
Marc had sacked Steve after the April/May sessions from which these tracks
are taken. It made sense to alter the songs so that Steve's involvement was
removed
*. Marc's annotations seem to correspond with this line of thinking
(learn harmony, bass, and tabla, the parts Steve would have done).Three of
the tracks would not make the finished album.

*According to Tony Visconti, Steve Took can still be heard on some songs.

No mono version of the LP was ever made.

For the last 43 years, I had always assumed there was only one release
of this album or should I say only one typeset for the whole Regal
Zonophone output of this UK released album. I found out a few days
ago that I was very happily wrong. See across for the "standard" release
and immediately below it for the "other" release.
Note the different sized circled P (next to the date) and the ever-so-slight
different spacing of the words.
On the actual vinyl, I wonder if "Prelude" is slightly louder on the "Other"
edition as the groove spacing is slightly bigger.

Please be aware when buying a Dib Cochran Oh Baby single, a repro was
manufactured in 2014 that is very similar to the real thing in most aspects.
The two points that stick out for me are the obvious blue vinyl, and the
runout etchings. The not-so-obvious points on the repro are the lines
eminating from the centre hole to the first ring, and the not-so-sharp ink printing.

This acetate is definitely not Dib Cochran and the Earwigs Strange that it
